Windsor COPE and Emergency

Preparedness

The COPE (Citizens Organized to Prepare for Emergencies) program is being implemented in Windsor to assist its residents in understanding, preparing for, and responding to emergencies like wildfires, earthquakes, flooding, and more. The COPE program was started in Windsor as part of WWP’s Windsor Neighborhood Community Program. Windsor COPE is now being endorsed by the Town of Windsor, Sonoma County Fire District, and Windsor Police. Please go to the new webpage to join the program and for current information, https://www.sonomacountyfd.org/town-of-windsor-cope. If you have questions, you can contact a COPE Leader at (707) 838-5302 or email COPE@townofwindsor.com.

Our Windsor program is part of COPE Northern Sonoma County, which works closely with Sonoma County Department of Emergency Management, Northern Sonoma County Fire Protection District, Sonoma County Fire District, CAL FIRE, Supervisor James Gore and other agencies. “With the great success of our local COPE programs preparing our community for disasters, I strongly support the development of the Windsor COPE program."  ~ Supervisor James Gore.  For more endorsements, click HERE.

Become a COPE neighborhood leader

The COPE program is facilitated by neighborhood leaders who provide guidance to 10 to 20 houses in their immediate neighborhood. These neighborhood leaders work with the Windsor COPE community leader who represents the larger community.

Windsor COPE provides neighborhood leaders with the leadership handbook, education, and guidance to organize and prepare their Neighborhood Team for potential emergencies. To learn more about becoming a leader, join COPE and check the box to let us know you're interested!
